By booking a Spiritual Mindset Coaching Programme or a Hypnotherapy Session with Margareta Howson, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking.

1. Services Provided

Margareta Howson provides:

  • Solution-focused hypnotherapy

  • Spiritual mindset coaching

  • Intuitive mentorship and readings

  • Self-hypnosis training

  • Related wellbeing services

All services are delivered online via Zoom video consultation unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Booking & Payment Terms

2.1 Payment in Advance

Payment must be received at least 24 hours before your scheduled session. Sessions will not proceed without confirmed payment.

2.2 Payment Methods

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Bank transfer

  • Card payment (via secure payment link)

  • Other methods as agreed in writing

2.3 Programme Payments

For multi-session programmes or packages:

  • Payment in full is required before the first session commences, OR

  • A payment plan may be agreed in writing prior to starting

  • All outstanding payments must be cleared before further sessions can be booked

2.4 No Session Without Payment

If payment is not received 24 hours before your scheduled session, the session will be automatically cancelled and the appointment slot released.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

3.1 Client Cancellations

24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session.

Cancellations with 24+ hours notice:

  • Full refund OR

  • Session can be rescheduled to another available time (subject to availability)

Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice:

  • 25% of session fee retained

  • 75% refunded OR session can be rescheduled (subject to availability and 25% admin fee)

No-shows or same-day cancellations:

  • No refund provided

  • Full session fee retained

  • Session must be re-booked and paid for separately

3.2 Emergency Exceptions

Genuine emergencies (serious illness, bereavement, unavoidable circumstances) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to cancel due to emergency.

3.3 Cancellations by Margareta Howson

If I need to cancel your session for any reason:

  • You will receive as much notice as possible

  • Full refund will be provided OR

  • Alternative session time offered at no additional cost

4. Online Sessions via Zoom

4.1 Technology Requirements

Sessions are conducted via Zoom video conferencing. You are responsible for:

  • Having a reliable internet connection

  • A device with camera, microphone, and Zoom capability

  • A private, quiet space for your session

  • Testing your technology before the session

4.2 Technical Difficulties

If technical issues occur during a session:

  • Minor interruptions (brief disconnection, audio issues) - we will reconnect and continue

  • Session unable to continue due to your technical issues - session may need rescheduling (standard cancellation policy applies)

  • Session unable to continue due to my technical issues - full refund or free rescheduling offered

4.3 Zoom Terms

By attending sessions via Zoom, you also agree to Zoom's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

5. Session Recording Policy

5.1 No Recording by Margareta Howson

Sessions are NOT recorded unless explicitly agreed in writing for specific therapeutic purposes. If recording is agreed, you will be informed in advance and provide written consent.

5.2 No Recording by Clients

You may NOT record sessions (audio or video) without prior written consent from Margareta Howson. This protects the confidentiality, therapeutic relationship, and professional nature of our work together.

Recording without consent may result in immediate termination of services without refund.

6. Materials & Intellectual Property

6.1 Materials Provided

During or after sessions, I may provide you with:

  • Relaxation recordings or guided hypnotherapy audio files

  • Worksheets, exercises, or informational PDFs

  • Self-hypnosis guidance materials

  • Other therapeutic resources

6.2 Personal Use Only

All materials provided are for your personal use only in connection with your treatment. You may not:

  • Share, distribute, or publish these materials

  • Use them commercially or professionally

  • Copy or reproduce them for others

  • Modify or adapt them without permission

All materials remain the intellectual property of Margareta Howson.

7. Scope of Service & Professional Limitations

7.1 Complementary Support

Hypnotherapy and spiritual mindset coaching are complementary approaches to support your wellbeing. They are not:

  • Medical treatment or diagnosis

  • Psychological therapy or counselling (though they may complement these)

  • A substitute for medical or mental health care

  • Emergency crisis support

7.2 Continue Medical Treatment

You must continue all prescribed medications and medical treatments unless your doctor advises otherwise. Never stop medication or medical treatment without consulting your healthcare provider.

7.3 Medical Clearance Required

For certain conditions (including but not limited to anxiety, depression, chronic pain, IBS, fibromyalgia), written medical clearance from your GP or consultant is required before sessions can commence. This ensures your condition has been properly assessed and hypnotherapy is appropriate.

7.4 Not Suitable For

These services are not suitable for individuals currently experiencing:

  • Severe depression requiring medical intervention

  • Active psychosis or serious mental health crisis

  • Being heavily medicated for psychiatric conditions (without medical approval for hypnotherapy)

If you are unsure whether these services are appropriate for you, please discuss this during your complimentary consultation.

8. Client Responsibilities

8.1 Accurate Information

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate health, lifestyle, and background information

  • Inform me of any changes to your medication or medical conditions

  • Disclose any mental health diagnoses or treatments

  • Be honest about your circumstances and goals

8.2 Attendance

You agree to:

  • Attend sessions sober and not under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs

  • Be in a private, quiet space where you won't be interrupted

  • Arrive to Zoom sessions on time (5 minutes early if possible)

  • Give adequate notice if you need to cancel

8.3 Personal Responsibility

You acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for your own wellbeing and life decisions

  • Hypnotherapy supports but does not replace your own agency and choices

  • Results cannot be guaranteed and vary between individuals

  • You will seek appropriate medical or emergency help if needed

9. Professional Boundaries & Communication

9.1 Session Duration

Sessions typically last:

  • Individual sessions: 40-90 minutes (depending on service)

  • Programme sessions: as agreed in your specific programme

Sessions ending time will be respected to maintain professional boundaries and schedule.

9.2 Communication Between Sessions

  • You may contact me via email between sessions for brief, session-related queries

  • I aim to respond within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays)

  • Lengthy or complex discussions should be scheduled as a session

  • I am not available for emergency support or crisis intervention

9.3 Emergency Support

I do not provide emergency or crisis support. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency:

  • Contact your GP or local mental health crisis team

  • Call Samaritans: 116 123 (24/7)

  • In immediate danger: call 999

10. Professional Insurance & Complaints

10.1 Professional Insurance

Margareta Howson holds professional indemnity insurance through Holistic Insurance Services.

10.2 Professional Standards

I adhere to professional standards of practice, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in line with my training and insurance requirements.

11. Confidentiality

11.1 Your Privacy

All information shared in sessions is strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone without your written consent, except where required by law (see Privacy Policy for details).

11.2 Your Confidentiality

Please maintain confidentiality regarding my methods, materials, and any personal or professional information shared during our work together.

12. Results & Outcomes

12.1 No Guaranteed Results

While many clients experience positive changes through hypnotherapy and coaching:

  • Results cannot be guaranteed

  • Individual experiences and outcomes vary

  • Success depends on many factors including your commitment, circumstances, and individual response to the work

12.2 Your Commitment

The effectiveness of our work together depends significantly on your active participation, honesty, and willingness to engage with the process.

13. Termination of Services

13.1 Either Party May End Services

Either you or I may choose to end our therapeutic relationship at any time.

13.2 Reasons I May End Services

I reserve the right to terminate services if:

  • You fail to pay for services rendered

  • You record sessions without permission

  • You attend sessions under the influence of substances

  • You behave inappropriately, disrespectfully, or abusively

  • I determine the services are not appropriate for your needs

  • Professional boundaries are violated

13.3 Outstanding Payments

Any outstanding payments remain due even if services are terminated.

14. Limitation of Liability

14.1 Professional Service

While I provide services with professional care and competence:

  • I cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results

  • I am not liable for decisions you make based on our work together

  • You acknowledge your own agency and responsibility for your life choices

14.2 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Margareta Howson from any claims arising from your use of the services, except where caused by negligence or breach of professional duty.

15. Changes to Terms

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Significant changes will be communicated to active clients via email.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, together with the Privacy Policy and any written agreements for specific programmes, constitute the entire agreement between you and Margareta Howson.
