How can Hypnotherapy help you?

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that uses hypnosis to induce a trance-like state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility. During this altered state of consciousness I can help clients explore their thoughts, feelings and memories at a deeper level. It's important to note that hypnosis is not a form of mind control, and clients retains full control over their actions and thoughts during the session.

Initial consultation - In the first session, we will typically discuss your goals, concerns and medical history. This enables me to understand your specific needs and tailor the session accordingly.

Relaxation induction - Once the consultation is complete, you will be guided into a state of deep relaxation. This may involve focusing on your breathing, visualisations or progressive muscle relaxation techniques. The purpose is to induce a relaxed state conducive to hypnosis.

After achieving a relaxed state you will guided into a deeper trance state. This is usually done through verbal suggestions that encourage deep relaxation and heightened focus. It's important to note that you remain aware and in control during the trance state.

Therapeutic suggestions - Once you are in a trance state, I may convey some therapeutic suggestions tailored to your specific goals. These suggestions are designed to help you change negative thought patterns, overcome obstacles or develop healthier behaviours. The suggestions are positive, empowering and aligned with your desired outcomes.

Subconscious exploration - Depending on the nature of your session, we may go deeper and explore your unconscious mind to gain insights into underlying issues or emotions. This may help uncover the root causes of certain challenges and facilitate healing and personal growth.

Towards the end of the session, you will be guided back to a normal waking state. You may feel relaxed, rejuvenated, or have a heightened sense of awareness.

Follow-up and integration - Depending on your needs and goals, additional hypnotherapy sessions may be scheduled to continue the therapeutic process. You may also receive tools and techniques to use in your daily life to reinforce the changes made during the sessions.

It's important to keep in mind that the effectiveness of hypnotherapy may vary from person to person. As mentioned above, some people may experience immediate changes, whilst others may require multiple sessions to achieve their desired results. Also note that hypnotherapy is a collaborative process and the effectiveness can vary depending on factors like the client's willingness to participate.

Additionally, hypnotherapy is often used in conjunction with other therapeutic techniques to maximise its effectiveness. It may help you in many ways, but it is a complimentary therapy, and it is NOT intended to replace traditional healthcare.

If you are unsure if hypnotherapy is right for you, please consult your general practitioner. In certain cases a GP's consent may be required to approve treatment.
